Isu Kim Lee (it/its) is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Berlin. In its works, Isu explores the incompleteness and incongruity of human experience by bringing together drag, movement, spoken words, body art and non-narrative story telling. Isu Mignon Mignonne 異水 謎龍 未姩 is its drag persona. Mignonne in its name doesn’t stand for ‘cute’ in French, but for 'Mi-(Chin)-Nyeon' in Korean, which means ‘crazy bitch’. Drag has been a big part of Isu’s artistic language, and it often incorporates transformative presence and lip-sync into its performances. Its drag make-up style is influenced by its grandmother’s traditional Buddhist paintings, full of imaginary creatures and vibrant colors. Isu has been a member of drag collective “House of Living Colors” since 2018 and AFSAR (Asian Feminist Studio for Art and Research) since 2023. It is also a founding member of IQTIA (Institute for Queer Trans and Intersex Autonomy) since 2025.
김이이수는 베를린을 기반으로 활동하는 다중예술가이다. 그는 주로 드랙, 움직임, 시, 신체예술과 비서사적 구연을 함께 엮으며 인간 경험 속의 불완정성과 위화감들을 탐구한다. 이수 미뇽 미년異水 謎龍 未姩 은 그의 드랙 페르소나이다. 여기서 ‘미년’은 프랑스어 mignonne (귀여운)을 의미하는 것이 아니라, 한국어로 ‘미(친)년’과 비슷한 발음을 의도한 언어유희이다. 드랙은 그의 예술활동에서 중요한 일부를 차지하며, 이수는 드랙 퍼포머로서의 변신과 립싱크를 자주 퍼포먼스 안에 끌어온다. 그의 화장법은 유년기에 본 화려한 색채와 상상의 생명체들로 가득한 외할머니의 불화들로부터 영향을 받았다. 그는 2018년부터 유색인종 드랙 연합 ‘하우스 오브 리빙 컬러스’의 멤버로, 2023년부터 아프사(Asian Feminist Studio for Art and Research)의 멤버로 활동해왔다. 2025년 설립된 IQTIA (퀴어·트랜스젠더·간성 자주성 협회)의 창립멤버이기도 하다.
